Sunrise

Did you see the sunrise this morning?
It was glorious. Rich in peach, pinky hues, the clouds splayed out across the sky reflecting the colors of the sun’s rays amidst the cerulean blues.
It made me thankful for the beauty of God’s creation. That I am made to enjoy His beauty, to bask in it, and praise Him for it. I am made to give Him glory for His beautiful creation and for who He is.
What would it have been like to be there when the sun was first brought into being by the words spoken from the mouth of God? How would a man, who had only ever known darkness, feel when a light that could not be contained burst forth, removing all darkness from the world?
Radiant. In Awe. Joy unable to be contained. Rejoicing, weeping, laughing.
This is what it's like when the Holy Spirit opens our eyes, since all have lived in darkness since birth, to the light of the Gospel. The joy we experience is synonymous to what it would be like to have only ever known darkness, literal darkness, and to one day see the sun for the first time.
Jesus Christ is the sunrise we were looking for all along. He is the sunrise of our soul.
